Sorry to hear about that.

My experiences have been that V1's get stolen more often then others because they are so identifiable and are known as the most expensive ones. That's one of the reasons I like my X50. It looks pretty much like any other detector, but you can't mistake a V1 for anything else.

Dang, I'm going to have to make more of an effort to hide mine unless I park it at work (lots of security) or my garage.

Where in Dallas did this happen? Mine was broken into inside my locked garage at my house in McKinney about 2 months ago. It spent 3 weeks at Park Place Lexus waiting for parts.

BTW, make sure you call Valentine to report the stolen serial number and your police report number. Valentine says that it is pretty common for theives to try and get a new "clean" V1 by sending it in for a repair or upgrade.

Technically, they did break into my house, but they didn't try entering the living area (even though I didn't lock the door from my garage into the living area). The cop was amazed that someone would commit such a serious felony (aggravated burglary of a residence) just for a friggin' radar detector. It is only a misdemeanor if it is in a driveway or parking lot. What's even more surprising is that they didn't take any of my tools or wheels, which would be much more "liquid".

Agree condolences to the victims here.. I know how it feels to come out and see your window smashed and your personal property taken. Causing you more in hassle and damages than the items were worth.. Lets just all hope they catch your theives.
