thats weird...when i picked up my is250awd, i asked for remote starter with alarm..and they installed it..i never knew it was a problem with the IS. mine works perfectly with the start button, no issue yet.
Post a pic of your remote. What buttons does it have on it? LOCK, UNLOCK, TRUNK, PANIC and START?
i actually have two fobs , one for the alarm with remote starter and the other one is the lexus fob. it pretty much have all the buttens in the lexus fob..i'll try to post a pic asap.
i wasnt exactly aimming at what people were looking for..i was just stating that I have a remote starter on my lexus, unfortunately it is a third party alarm system with remote starter..but still i have it..heheh

Actually, this is good news because it means the immobilizer system can be bypassed. DEI has a remote start unit that will control the starting process. The module can be set to activate when receiving 3 pulses (say from the lock pulse on the door lock), or parking light flashes. This way, you would start the car by pressing the lock button 3 times consecutively within a certain time frame (say 5 seconds).
top of my head..i think its pursuit..or maybe its audiovox..too tired to think, but i really wish it is under one fob though..hate to carry two around. nite all!

1. You'd patch the white/blue activation wire to a ground for the parking lights and set the unit to 3 or more pulses.
2. You'd either have to not connect the parking light flash output from the DEI Valet, or you'll have to be clever and connect it with diodes to keep it from triggering it's own activation wire.
3. You'll also need some sort of bypass module to allow the vehicle to start without the key inside.
