Default E85 Retrofit?

Is it possible with our high compression engines? E85 has higher octane . Can anyone shed some light?

regards, Bart

From what I understand you would need to redo tank and gas lines, plus what ever other items

E85 actually has less energy. Stick with gas.

Yes, you can. Pretty sure you can do it on any car. You will most likely void your entire warranty if you put E85 in it especially if you go around replacing fuel lines and changing the timing. Dealers/shops would do it if they didn't have to warranty the emmissions for 10 years. Thanks Environmental Protection Agency.

theres actually less energy per gallon in E85 vs lower % of ethanol gas like E10 (hence why you get less mileage dont think it has more power

This is spot on. There are absolutely no performance gains with E85 - the benefits are all environmental, the biggest two being 1) It's produced by fermenting corn, so it's a renewable resource (unlike petroleum) and 2) There is almost no pollutive exhaust discharge, so it's nice to the atmosphere...

they've spent millions on getting that E85 going. what a waste. and you'll be filling up more with E85.

Do the reduced emissions from E85 include CO2? Because you'd think with all this renewed global warming scare, they would work on reducing greenhouse gasses like CO2, the majority of which comes from planes from what I hear, rather than target cars who's emissions these days is pretty low as it is.

Now if E85 does not reduce CO2 emissions, it seems counter productive since we'd probably be producing more of it due to having to burn more E85 to get the same amount of work done.
