Hello Need some advice.
Hello,
I need some advice. I just landed a new job that is only about 5 minute local drive from where I live. The civic is going to be given to my little brother. I was thinking about getting a new IS350. The thing is, I live so close to work it wouldnt be practical. Would it be worth buying a 40k+ car to drive to work and waste gas? I was thinking about getting a Honda Fit or even a golf cart to goto work. I think I have been spoiled by my civic's 30mpg. What would you do?

I don't quite understand. If your commute is only five minutes, you should care less on how much mileage a car gets, correct?
I have between a 45 minute to a 1:30 commute (traffic) and I wouldn't think twice about the 350. I'm averaging just under 27 MPG (90% highway commute) and couldn't ask for more.

35 miles for me and 23 mpg............Problem is I can't seem to get my foot off the floor from the time it starts till I pull in........
Like Al503 said, if you only have a 5 minute commute to work, then mileage shouldn't really be a concern for you.
Think of it this way, if you get the 350, gas won't be a problem since you're so close, and when you're not at work, you be cruising around in a kick *** car having a good time, enjoying what you drive. If buying the 350 is within your means, then I say go for it. Why settle? If you do, you'll probably end up regretting it later on.
