Default NAV Hack Side Effect?

I just did the NAV hack this morning a while i was driving around later in the day I needed to use the route guide. I had a movie on at the time( for the wife and kids) so I wanted to have the computer lady's voice tell me when to turn and it never did I drove right by the exit. So what I am trying to say is that it didn't tell me when to turn but it did tell me when I had arrived at my dest.
Has this happened to anybody else or did I screw something up?

That's the side affect of the Nav/hack. It thinks the car is still in park, while ur driving so the voice wont tell u where to turn, etc.. You can still see it on the map screen view, but in order for the hack to work propertly you had to gound the park wire to trick the system. Think it as the car is being tow and the destination set in..

Metallic tint often screws up the navigation system. Sounds like that isn't your problem though.

So when you do the nav hack, it won't do voice directions like turn by turn?

But you'll be able to change route or enter new destination while moving? Can't you change your destination while moving because Acura navi can without having to do any hacking.

yeah but thats not why I did it, it was strictly for the movies on the go...I have two kids and this was cheaper than buying an aftermarket monitor

Would this also affect the car calculating position based on speed when the GPS can't connect to car? I noticed on NAV video instructions when the satellites can't reach/connect to car, the speed sensor kicks in and tries to calculate where you are on the map/nav until the GPS signal connects again. If the speed sensor wire is cut in the NAV hack can it continue to calculate position on map when GPS signal is not there? I don't have car yet(due in 4 weeks) but was going to do NAV hack, but don't want to loose functionality either.

Thanks.

I did the hack and this is my one and only problem:

The Nav system still gives proper commands at the right times and places as needed. I have ceramic tint.

However, the blue path from origin to destination stays on the screen and does not disappear, unless if I decide to go off track of the preset blue path the Nav system provided.

That's all.

If the Nav lady forgot to give you a verbal instruction, make sure that you did not turn off the Voice Command Option in the Menu setting.

Also, the Nav lady does not give instructions at all time. You sometimes need to press the Speak Button and say "Directions" to activate her instruction.

My Nav works fine, even with a DVD video playing. While watching, it still tells me the verbal directions.

You might want to check your wires? Check if there are any loose wires.

Same here. I get voice directions all the time.
