Does anyone know when the remote starter is going to come out?

Don't they offer that option at the dealer?

Remote engine start is a optional equipment in Lexus of Japan.

Carson Toyota has a unit they are trying to see if it's compatible on U.S. cars

We'll probably see this option spread through out the Lexus line up in the U.S, cause the new Camry & Avalon now have it as a option.

You sir is correct. Of course, I'm sure it cost a little lower in Japan. Considering they need to make some profit in this business.

I wish our cars came with remote start. I guess everyone will be dropping 1g+ to get this option install in the future.

WOW.. $800? Thats insane. I thought it would probably go for $500-600? Doesn't those aftermarket ones go for around $300?

I'm seeing doubles O_O

Anyway, yes there are aftermarket alarms that does wonders, but I don't want to have a 2nd remote dangling from my OEM one.

I'll look into this when I visit Japan.

Like the $105 sunglass holder for the ash tray, the remote start is a JDM part not intended for sale in the US. Should that situation change and the kit be available to dealers through normal channels, I'm sure the price will plummet.

EVEN THE $15000 CHEVY HHR comes with the remote start. Lexus is trying to achieve perfection? Well they certainly forgot a few things. Although they seem to have successfully engineered desire.
