When the sun heats up my back window, it creaks like hell

only then it does it. The dealer had the headliner off and it still did it.

it is an anoying creak like styrophone or a creaky door and loud.

Dealer called and said they are replacing my back window with a new one.

reason not just remove and reinstall is becuase the mouldings are glued to the glass now.

1600.oo for new rear window......yeowwwwwwwwww warrantty covered

here is the reason. there are clips that suspend the glass while letting the glue dry. they are findin that the clips creak in the channel somehow.

yuck i hope no leaks

LexusSara,
I have this same problem on my '03 ES. It only happens when the car has been sitting out in the heat and makes a ticking/creaking noise from the top of the back window while driving around. It's driving me crazy as we're now in the heat of summer. Was the dealer able to resolve the issue with your IS?

After a day sitting at work in the hot sun then using my a/c on the way home the dash will crack and pop like Rice Krispies for a few minutes. Probably expanding/contracting with the differ temps.

I have the same problem with my dash cracking and popping when I first start up the ar after a lot of direct sun. I live in Arizona, 105 - 115 past month and it really pops and cracks. It does it for about 15-20 seconds and then settles, but is anoying as hell. Anyone take this issue into a dealer yet? I read the answers about the back window, but my issue is the front.

I have that same problem!! When the sun heats up the back windshield,
mad creaks and pops while driving. Freakin' annoying.

Has anyone tried to fix the back windshield creak by yourself? If it's
the clips, then could they be behind the headliner?

I'm also wondering if it will go away on it's own after the creaking
materials wears a little. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I think there is a TSB to fix the pops on the front windshield.

Default sound making me craaazy!

I have the same squeaking sound from my rear side/window whatever it is..it's driving me nuts. I took it into the service dept 4 times already and all those 4 times of telling me "were confident this time it will not happen again" it has happened again. I called the service manager this time and asked him to personally take care of this matter cause I did not pay 38+ for a squeaking luxury car. He told me to come in and that he'll go for a ride with me. Lets see what these suckers say and do. On a side note...if this is gonna be my 5th time going in for the same problem...wont I be able to lemon this squeaker? I cant drive without having the music all the way up or else I go crazy!!!

If the rear windows have the same fitment as the front windshield, the solution must be the same. There is a TSIB that applies to all Lexus models '03-'07. The TSIB number is NV005-06 Revised September 18, 2006.
