Default Any info on 2007 IS?

My dad who works with Lexus/Toyota was helping me order an 07 IS250 but since the system hasn't been updated with all the pricing I have to wait, some sort of transistion between 06 and 07 where no orders are placed but supposedly there is no more sports package, which I wanted for the metallic finish, and there is a new X package but I didn't find out what exactly was the X-package was. Any hear of this and does anyone know when production is supposed to start?

Also he asked, when I said black ext, he asked black or saphirre black, which I haven't heard of.

update:
From what I've been told, 06s orders have been stopped. You can still order a car from a dealer but that specific order won't be built, it will likely come from a shipment currently en route or another dealer and 07 orders can be placed on May 16 for June 15th Production, and with 3-4 months for delivery, that should put 07s in around Sept

Hopefully with people placing orders for the '07 the '06's will come down in price.

that would assume 06's sitting on lots, which they are not :-). And besides, there wont be any differences in car anyway other than possible different option packaging...

What you mean they are not.

My local dealers have at least 8 IS250/IS350's sitting on the lots.

There will be some minimal changes that is almost certain. Dont think there will be any major changes.

the idea of a manual box is out for 07. same with a convert 07 is500 07 all that crap.

some new paints, maybe package reorganizing. the only thing that seems to still be on tap for 07 is variable VDIM.

Default "X" Package on 2007 IS

I confirmed there is an "X" package and it can be ordered with or without the moonroof. Previously, all IS's arrived with moonroofs. Could this be an "auto-x (cross)" package for people to use as a basis for racing along the same lines as the Track package on the Nissan Z / Infiniti G35? Why else would you leave out the moonroof? I'll post more details as soon as I find out.

And yes, there is a new black called Black Sapphire...this is in addition to the current black. Maybe a pearl metallic black like Basalt Black on Porsches.

Sounds interesting cant wait to here more details on this package and to see the color. Im also hoping that Lexus makes a sportdesign edition like they did with the 1st gen IS.

they really, really need to make HID and the AFS system as a seperate option, not making someone buy a lux or sport package, the ES350 has HIDs seperately I believe

That makes perfect sense being that probably the two most popular colors for this car in US is black and smokey granite mica. I personally think those two are the nicest colors on this car... of course I had to go with GFM since I'd go PMS every time my car got dirty.

So....If I JUST ordered an 06 model and am expecting a July delivery, would it be worth my while to have the dealer change the order to an 07? Especially if the above holds true, that orders placed after May 16 will be "actually" delivered from exisiting orders...

The idea of a 2007, even with little to no modifications, sounds much better after various reports of necessary first-model-year tweaks (i.e. ECM reprogramming for stalls, recall for AWD mats, and hopefully better positioning of the MP3 input jack)
