Default Newb Questions

Hey guys I'm sorry for asking these silly questions but this will be my first car purchase ever . I'll be purchasing an IS 250 AWD and was wondering about things when I purchase the car.
When I purchase it, will i get the temporary paper license plate and also how will i drive the car out of the lot without insurance, or I'll get a temporary insurance as well? Thank you and I apologize once again for these questions

usually if the car is financed you are required to have insurance added before you leave the lot.

Default Insurance

Call your salesman and ask him to provide you the VIN.

Then call your insurance agent, and provide them the year, model, make and VIN for the IS, along with the date that you will acquire it. He/she can then code that in, get you an idea of your new rate, and have the required insurance card printed and on it's way so that you can have with the vehicle ASAP as is required by law.

I have done this several times and it works well to give the agent advance notice of your pending purchase...but make sure you get an accurate VIN before calling them.

You have 30 days to put your car on your insurance policy once you purchase. I usually wait until the last day before i call them. But i guess i'm just cheap.........

They give you a temp plate and you just need to show them your insurance card for any vehicle you own and have covered, pretty simple.

Yes dealers will take a personal check but they will verify with the bank that there is money in your account first. But I a cashiers check would be better if you know the amount already.
