Default Factory order time line?

So... most of ppl on board is sugguesting that i should factory order the way i want.
Fully loaded sport, navi,ML (which is not available in Northeast)

How long does the factory order take? dealer says 3 or 4months.

and also, how tough is it to get a discount from MSRP when ordering special factory order?

3-4 months is right on the money.. More like 4 months. I negotiated $3900 off the car below, which is about 3% over invoice. On a 350, you should be able to get around $2000 off. Shop around to different dealers if you can, even further away. A day trip maybe worth $1000 to you. I put in feelers through the Lexus website to 8 dealers, and finally got the deal I wanted.

I was told 3-4 months as well on my loaded car, but negotiations had nothing to do with it being built in Japan or sourced from anywhere in the country.

Do some research on purchasing from a remote dealer. You might get a better deal and get the car faster...

I did a special order like on Jan 18th. Ordered was placed while I was in the dealership. Dealer is saying late April but most likely early May. With an order in Jan I had a March build date.

many people didnt make special orders and got their cars after 3-4 months, supply is low and the demand is high, expect wait times

The good news (for me) is that now that we have our cars, special orders and four month wait times are much easier to deal with in the future. No problem driving the 2006 IS350 while your 2009 IS350 is on special order.
