Default drl..the saga continues

i don't know.... i guess i'll leave my drls on.... i don't mind my newly updated drls. I gotta admit I was scared that they just wouldn't match enough to HIDs, but after i installed them, these truly are a great match for the stock HIDs. 41 bucks shipped for Hoen Xenonmatch Plus 9005s. I also installed the polarg m4s. and they are a bit too blue and dim for my taste, saving up for those raybring j51s damn too expensive for side lights. and i guess now i gotta get some hoens for my fogs now.. errrr...

hoen xenonmatch plus
stock
drl hoen
drl stock
hoen vs. stock
hoen vs. stock
both hoens installed
pics dont do the match justice

Are you talking about the parking lights? DRL's arent on when the headlights are on.

can you take a closeup pic in the daytime, with the car off (DRL's off)?

I don't want to have a big ugly blue bulb in there.

The lights dont really reflect the blue too much at most angles. The only real bad angle is straight/direct. I know exactly what you mean by having but ugly blue lights on the front, but I think the way the lights are set deep in the headlight makes them not as noticeable.

Here's a link for where i found them on salelskoncepts.com
or go here hoen-usa

and here are more daytime pics
drls
stock xenon and high-beams

My dealer was kind enough to turn mine off when I brought mine in to adjust my personalized settings.

the only difference i see is that one light is darker than the other.
what is it? and why does everyone want to take it off?

DRL is short for "Daytime Running Lights." Some people like them, or think it's safer, but I personally hate them and feel it detracts from the look of the car. So I had my dealer turn them off, but not every dealer will do this for you.

It's because most dealers don't have a clue that they can in fact disable those terrible DRL's.
When I had my 05 GX, I even had to give the dealer the chapter, section and paragraph from the Lexus service manual which told them how to turn the DRL's off. When I picked up my 06 GX, they remembered how to turn the DRL's off, so it saved me from reminding them how to do it.

well if your hid's are on then the drls are off (just the hid and parking light). if you flip on your high beams the hids are on and the drl/high beam bulb gets lit up. The stock drl/high beam bulbs show up softer/yellow in color. These help improve the looks by matching the color output of the hids to the high beams, and by not being so yellow improve the look when you keep the drls on instead of going to the dealer to have them shut off. I don't mid having the drls on, the car is sexy drl on or off.
