Default Cold idle RPM

Looking for any input from other IS350 owners on cold idle RPM. Mine is in the 1200-1400 RPM range and stays there for at least ten minutes. During this time the temp gauge comes up and settles in around 1/3 of the way. The car tends to lurch a bit because of the higher revs and will drive down the street at 30+ MPH without having to touch the throttle. Just trying to figure out if anyone else is experiencing this.

Mine does the same thing when it's cold and I first start it up, but once I go into drive, the rpm's come back down to where they should be.

Default Cold Idle

My 250 runs a high idle. Even in gear (drive), the rpm is about 900 to 1000 until the engine is fully warmed up with the temp guage at the stable mid-range position. IWhen fully warm, the idle drops to the normal 600 or so. It takes the engine a lot longer to warm up that my '97 SC or any other car in recent memory.

its normal. all cars have higher hpms because fuel tends to not mix as well when the car is cold

Thanks to all that have responded to this. Sounds like it must be normal, but it is a bit higher than any other car that I have had.

it's a bit higher because of gearing (6-sp vs 4 or 5-sp).

...that my 350 starts up and is @1500 rpm for @10-15 seconds, and then drops down to @1200 rpm. I usually give it the few seconds to drop down until i put it in reverse to back out of my garage. i dont know if i need to do that, but it cant hurt. anyone else notice this?
