I am not audio expert and don't want ML for $1500. Is is possible to get DVD changer with Navi only?

No. In order get DVD Audio/Video playback from the factory system, you must have the factory Navigation/Mark Levinson setup.

Only when u have the emergency brakes on. Other then that u need to take it to a place where they use a kit to work around it. i was quoted $950 for that kit.

As mentioned above, only with the parking brake engaged and you're obviously parked. You can however listen to the full DVD Video movie or DVD Audio while you're driving down the road, just the video feed will not show, only your NAV, HVAC or whatever screen you have up will be on.

haha, i have seen 10 sec procedure for free.
:-).
p.s. while ability to watch dvd's is cool, I would not pay 1c extra for it. However, I would pay a lot more for ML.
