how to reset the door lock functions?

Yep, noticed that, too. Nice job by Lexus! I always found it irritating in other cars, having to 'unlock' it with a button before I could get out. Hell, if I didn't want to open the door, I wouldn't be pulling on the handle! Accomodates the function of not having it 'unlock when shift to park', too. I wouldn't use that safety feature, if I had to use the button to unlock it. If I'm in a bad neighborhood, and have to put it in park to reach for my cannon, I don't need the doors to unlock!

I was trying to get the seat to automatically adjust to it's preset position when I unlock the door. Anyone get that to work? The manual says to hold down the number of the preset you want the seat to adjust to while holding down the unlock button on the transmitter until it beeps. Of course as soon as you press one of the seat memories it beeps. Can't seem to get this one to work despite the clear instructions in the manual.

Changing the auto lock feature on my 04' GX470
I tried changing the auto lock feature to unlock when the car is in Park and to lock when I am driving. I tried following the instructions of putting the key in the ignition in the "on" position and then holding the unlock button for a count of 5 while the car is in Park. I finally got it to work when I actually timed it with my watch to exactly 5 seconds. I'm a happy camper, although I was getting frustrated with I was counting to 5 and it wasn't working. Hope this helps. It can be done.

i have tried so many times and it doesn't seemed to work..i timed for 5s with a stopwatch too..mine is is250 2006 model..my user handbook does not include this function..does it mean that it is not available?..can anyone provide me an insight?..
furthermore..is that any specific timing i have to wait before the holding down the lock button after pressing the start button twice to switch to IG-on mode?

Following the instructions in the owner's manual, and after three or four tries, I was able to set it to lock on shifting out of Park and unlock on shifting into Park.
I don't remember doing anything different the time it finally worked. . But there is some time requirement between switching the ignition on and going through the drill with the lock/unlock button.
Sorry not to be more help.
