Default Door lock actuator help!!!

I followed the thread on this board and replaced the motor in the front driver's door actuator. Everything went well and I got it to work; however, I can't manually open the locking latch from inside the car unless I hit the unlock botton or open the door manually. Anyone has a solution for this? Thanks.

Adjust the locking cable that goes to the manual lock. Unclip it from the door panel, and reposition it. It was trial and error for me to get it to work.

The door will lock/unlock with the press of the button or remote. The manual lock/unlock latch only able to move back and forth AFTER I unlock with the botton or remote. If I lock it then I can't manually open the latch. What do you think the problem it? Thanks.

Default actuator

How much did you pay for the actuator? I need to get my driver side done, or did you get the parts from a toyota part?

Take out and make sure you actually put it in correctly. There are 2 white plastic arm from the actuator casing that needs to be fitted into the mounting hardware. You may have just 1 of the 2 arms inside their respective slots. Sorry if I'm not clear enough. I dont have pictures to show you.

I paid $13 shipped for just the motor alone and follow the DIY that is posted on this website to replace the motor.

I know what you are talking about and I double checked before I put it in and everything lined up correctly.

When you opened up the case, did you happen to take out the big circular gear with a metal spring inside?

Even without the power, you should still be able to manually lock/unlock by hand.

yeah, same problem (rear left not that it matters) the lock cable isnt positioned correctly, i actually broke the small plastic piece so it no longer fits in the metal slot correctly anymore, but still has power so i dont care. i agree with bigdawg, you should adjust it until its corrected. have someone test it via remote after quick adjustments. post back.

I find it's best to hold the button into the lock position before snapping the cable back into threaded slot. That's how I've always done it and it comes out perfectly all the time.

Yes, I partially removed the big circular gear and put it back. Could that be the problem? How do I adjust it? Thanks.

Did you figure it out? Wish I could help...I just put everything back together the way it came out and had no problems.

I dont know how the repositioning the cable would help because the latch will move freely after I press the unlock button. I have no clue how this could happened? Anyone have another suggestion? Thanks.
