I'm still unable to get a DVD's worth of mp3s to work yet.

I have an ipod nano that is dedicated to the is350, stays there permanently except for an ocassional refresh.

I do get the ground noise, there's a fix?

 

do a search on CL. Someone had good results with Ground noise filter ordered from Crutchfield.
Can you give me some info on how you burned the DVD (type and brand of media, burner and the book type setting)? It makes no sense that Lexus puts a DVD player in the car that can't do anything other than watching movies in "Park."

Yes I saw that, for $24 I'm going to wait a week or two to see if there is a better solution or maybe there's a nice ipod interface device. I only get the whining noise when the ipod is hooking into power using the belkin connection so for right now, I only use it to charge up the ipod when I'm playing CDs or watching movies. Otherwise, ipod runs on battery and I get several days and no noise...for now.

 

I'm working on trying out one or two more things then I can let you know. Right now I've been using Platinum DVD+R burned using iTunes and my Dell desktop. Lots more things I can try....suggestions?

 

I am not familiar with "Platinum." Is it a generic brand? Since you have Dell, you probably don't have a burner that lets you set the book type for DVD+R and DVD+RW. I would first try using a name brand DVD-R (minus format). I don't think a software issue because the CD-R played just fine.

 

anyway when you order ML+NV. ( as per kingsland's situation) The head unit is made by Pioneer and the amplifiers and speakers are made by Harmon (under Mark Levinson). At first it showed two different head units with the Mark Levinson label but now when we try to order the one that doesn't play DVD's it will not accept the order. The DVD audio/movie demo discs arrived today for demonstrating the Mark Levinson system. I'm going to try it out tonight on the GS because we don't have any IS350's with ML....
