Default C&D Review

Anyone read the new C&D sept. 2005? They drove the IS250 and IS350 at japan and really seemed to like it. They seem to only have praise for the car and say its does everythign better than the first one with great performance and handling as well as and excellent ride with less road noise then the rest of the class. They even loved the standard Stereo. They unofficially clocked the IS350 at 5.9 seconds from 0-62.

That's good to hear. Although no offense to any 1IS owners, but there's a lot to be improved with that vehicle (other than braking & handling).

I'll have to go pick this up later... i keep forgetting to renew my subscription

I would be lying if I said I would be a lil if the IS 350 doesn't get low to mid 5 second 0-60 times. The 1/4 mile seems to be a very strong point though.

I mean, 306hp, what 280lbs torque with 3500lbs to push around is slower than 300hp/325lbs torque and 3750 lbs to push in the GS 430?

Honestly, I expected the IS 350 to be faster. I hope to see faster times. (Damn I sound like the magazine junkies that come here)

0-62 in 5.9 sec. will probably translate to 0-60 in ~ 5.8 to 5.7 sec. . . . . .
Yep, can't wait to see more tested times from different sources.

You are right. Usually difference between 0-100Km/h and 0-60mph is about 0.3-0.4 seconds. I guess it depeneds on timing of the gear change.

Here is the thing - usually 0-60 is done in 2nd gear and 0-62 is done in 3rd gear, which is why the difference is usually at least 0.4-0.5 sec. 5.9-0.4 is actually 5.5 secs :-).

In any case, as edmunds test shows, it is 0.5 sec faster than 330i 0-60 and 0.7 secs 1/4mil, and thats Auto vs Manual, so apples to apples it might be even up to a sec faster than 0-60 than 330i Auto.

:-).
