2IS known CAN bus identifiers
Hi, this is my first post, sorry for the big long explanation;
I am about to start the journey of reverse engineering the 2IS CAN bus to add a digital speedometer to the stock cluster, I have 3 options in my mind to make this work, all with their own challenges. I want to make my project as straightforward as possible so other people can also do the mod easily, so stealing the signals post processing from the pcb is a no because of the soldering required. So the easiest way to do this is by reading the can data from the bus.
I was wondering if anyone who has reverse engineered the 2IS CAN bus would be willing to share their information. I have searched hundreds of threads and websites but there seems to be no actual data regarding the 2IS can, I can see multiple people have mentioned they are working on projects and decoded data but never shared their findings publicly.
Thanks in advance for the help, hopefully if all goes well I will make a post soon further detailing my plan.

Good idea thank you, I didn’t even notice the links to other platforms until you mentioned it. I was trying to message ahmed here but apparently you have to post for a bit before you can private message. I’ll give him a message on instagram and see how that goes
Please keep us posted on the digital speedometer, it would really help me with a radar pre-collision system I'm building, I was planning on just using GPS for speed sensing but if you can teach us how to do it directly with the CAN Bus that would be even awesome.
Long time since I posted last but I have been working hard on seamlessly integrating a digital speedometer into the stock cluster.
Good news is after all these months learning electrical engineering and reverse engineering the cluster, I have got a prototype that works as intended. There are a few small bugs I need to iron out still but here is a video of the digital speedometer in action. I will provide more details on how everything works and the journey to get here in a separate post shortly.

Holy sh*t. You got the speedometer working and were able to add in it's own display? I have so many questions, absolutely amazing work. Can I PM you with some questions? I have my own project I've been wanting to create and I was going to use an external OLED for it but you got the main cluster screen to work like that.
Holy sh*t x2. I'm also working on swapping the 2 dials with displays and making the original cluster semi-digital but I'd love to know how you actually managed to reverse engineer it to add your own option to the OEM screen and how you figured out the CAN. I need to do both CAN and BEAN and I'm scared to even start lol

Hi, sorry for the late response, I was in surgery and just got home.
The device currently runs on an esp32-s3 and my custom board. All original functions are retained so no messages are missed.
However I have some bad news for those of you who were interested in the CAN aspect of this project. Although I got some data from can in the early stages, I am using the direct speed pulses for a more accurate speedo.
I will get a full post detailing everything in a weeks time when I am better.
