Default squeaky clutch pedal

Hi,

Just signed up with Club Lexus. Wondering if someone can assist me with my IS300 (2002) manual - squeaky clutch pedal.

I've tried lubbing it and basically found out that there is a plastic piece that needs replacing and is the causing the pedal to squeak. It comes and goes but at it's worst it's very loud and annoying.

I've also inquired a CLUTCH PEDAL ASSEMBLY KIT from the dealer and it's awfully expensive.....not worth it, especially for one particular piece.

My mechanic suggested I ask this forum to see if I can get any leads on a used one or any other ideas.

Thank you

What plastic piece are you talking about there are several pieces that are plastic on the clutch pedal assembly. What did you use to lubricate it?

Hi 01MSMSXE10

We used Lithium Grease. It works for a while then the squeaking returns.

as for the plastic piece this is what I can tell you:

ITS PART OF THE PEDAL ASSEMBLY....A RETAINING PLASTIC 'CLIP' that holds the spring...

Does this help? any suggestions or advice?

thank you

I'm assuming you're talking about 31301C (part number 90386-13015)?

Hi 01MSMSXE10

Thanks for the advice. I ended up changing the bushings and another clip which fixed the problem!

I changed parts 31301C (there were 3 of them I had to change)$12 and 31301P (one clip) $5.50.

Thanks so much for the advice.
Now it feels brand new!

Could you help me out? I have a 2IS 6MT but from the diagram it looks like a pretty similar issue. Ive tried lubing the part the spring attaches to and it helps ish. still prevalent. im not sure how to change the bushings and was wondering if you could walk me thru it
