noise under dashboard help please
I have brand new is300 and after 900 miles I hear some strange noises that come from the dashboard side when driving. Specially on craks or little bumps on the road. Please help if you experience the same?

I haven't experienced that. Take it back to the dealer and let them check it out.

yes, lexus is great about that stuff. rattles are a big no-no w/ them.
just make sure you know how to get the rattle going consistently. most likely, the dealer will have a diagnostic technician go on a road test with you to listen to the rattle. it'll be much easier for you if you know exactly when and how it will rattle. (otherwise they may not be able to help!)

Yeah, I think there is a common problem with that or so I've read. My car does it, a little rattle to the bottom left of the steering wheel. I just turn the radio up, I really don't want some clown pulling my car apart, so I'll live with it.
I was riding in a relative's '01 IS today, and it had a rattle coming from the left side of the dash (perhaps behind the cluster). Being a good CL user, I ran a search and found this thread. Has anybody fixed this problem since this thread was last active?
Does it sound like rattling or like fluid going through piping? See if you can turn off the A/C and hear a difference in sound. If that's the case, it's the refrigerant running through the piping and resonating out from the dash into the cabin. It's an IS characteristic unfortunately.

Hmm... The climate control was in fact in Auto mode with the A/C compressor running. But it did sound more like rattling than sloshing fluid. Does this A/C rattle come from just to the bottom left of the steering wheel? Like SDuquette mentioned, that seemed to be exactly from where the noise was coming.
I found another thread that claimed the source of the noise was the trip meter reset button, I'll have to look into that as well. Finally, when the car was new, a coin fell into the shift gate and was never removed. However, I put my head near the shift gate while the rattling was occuring, and that did not seem to be anywhere near the source.
