Hello, I'm new to Lexus. I picked up an 03' IS300 manual this weekend. I had never driven one before but I've always liked the looks and potential. I'm used to Nissan/Infiniti's, I've had an EVO and some Acura's before. I'm looking to keep the car clean and do some tasteful mods.
Currently she has Stance GR+ coils, staggered SSR rims 17x8 and 17x9 +33 with 10 and 5 mm spacers. Also has an HKS muffler with custom catback piping.
I need to focus on the body of the car a bit as the front bumper needs to be cleaned up and the rear bumper is damaged.
Plans are to get some Timing Belt maintenance done very soon (parts on order), then change the plugs (went with NGK Platinums since I'm basically stock)
After that, get an aftermarket body kit and paint it.
Going to sell the Stance coilovers and get a spring/shock combo so I can aid the funding of the body kit with the difference. Also going to sell the SSR rims and tires to get a good set of stocks and check my wheel options after I take care of the body cosmetics.
I'm looking forward to many years of ownership, I'm located in Central FL
Very nice is300 man!!! So you're basically saying that you're gonna put the car back to stock just to buy a body kit??? I think the car looks sweet the way it is... I would say, save up for the body kit better & keep all the stuff the car has already. I personally don't think a stock car looks good with a body kit, but that's just my opinion. Also, I think there's better options when it comes to body kits for the is than the ones you mentioned. Good luck with your car though!!
Very nice! And i agree, keep the stances and save for a kit. And you're in central FL? Come out to the orlando clublexus meet wednesday night!
Where is the meet?
I had to raise the car up a bit, it was too low for my daily drive. As far as the rims, I'm probably going to keep but I want to change the tires, I'm not into the tires being stretched. On the body kit I def wouldn't have one with stock ride height. I'll check my options
^^I can do a grill swap for you if you want, I'll be there. And I'm sure you won't have a problem getting rid of a soarer either lol PM me if you have any questions
