Default scratches on the dash, repaint?

my 02' has some small but annoying little scratches, the pos material 'yota used to cover the dashes gets hot under sun and leaves marks, fingertips, etc

whats the remedy for this, tape everything up and spray it?

what do you guys recommend?

I had this happen and had it redone. There's a diy on here somewhere. I've seen some people strip it all off and leave the grey color behind, or take out the dash and repaint it. I'm a little dissapointed with the job I had done, so I'm stripping and vinyl wrapping it.

That was my original plan, and will be my back up if my vinyl wrapping doesn't hold up or come out as planned. The gunk has been coming off like a dream with goof off and a cloth. I'm kinda apprehensive of tearing out the dash, even though I've had most of it out already. If you're looking to do that, there's a picture diy of it somewhere on here.

Yup, had this happen to me a few years ago. I have an 03'. The dash was so bad it was like peanut butter when it got hot and just slid right off. I complained to Lexus about the quality of their cars and blah blah blah. Didn't get me anywhere, they wouldn't take ownership for their mistake in the bad mixture of the dash material. There is clearly a defect here. Long story short, I ended up taking it to JM Lexus in Margate, FL where they have recognized and deal with the problem. $400 later and they stripped, and refinished the dash with a better material. Its been sticky free for over 3 years now, still looks great. Sucks there was never a recall for this.
