Default relay clicking

i have a problem with my efi relay clicking when i disarm and arm the alarm and when i take the key out of the ignition after i start the engine the efi relay clicks most of the times only a few seconds and other time a few minute or more then stops, goes away when i put the key in the ignition, could there be a short somewhere, any suggestion where, or what might be causing it.

the relay is probably starting to go bad, replace it and see how it does then. probably not a short.

my question is are you in the drivers seat when you hear it? the reason i ask is that the air servos in these cars tend to start acting funny after awhile, i hear a noise very similar to what you are describing in our RX 300 all the time, havent gotten around to fixing it yet, just a thought

i tried swaping relay with another one still does the same thing, and you cant really hear the clicking inside the car, i know for a fact that its the efi relay because you can fell it clicking and when disconnected it would stop and continue clicking constantly when plug back in, most of the time it doesnt stay on that long.

no, the car still has the oem alarm, but i do notice that at times the car would crank and not start just crank and i would have to arm and disarm and the car would starts, i belive its related to that clicking noise the relay is making.

then it almost sounds related to your factory alarm or key. for example i had actually tow his lexus rx330 into my shop yesterday because it wouldn't start and his wife was using an oem key, but the key was broke so the remote transponder was in the car, but out of the key. well the tow truck driver dropped it off and gave me the key, right away i noticed the remote missing from the key and knew that was it. so i gave him a call and asked him if he had another key and he did so he came by and tried to use it and it fired right up and on his way he went after he paid the towing bill.
