Question Going from Automatic to E-shift

I just got the 2002 is300 and am not sure if/when I can put the car in manual mode while driving in automatic.

I read some where that you CAN switch while driving, but I am not sure how and am hesitant to try. Can someone please explain how this works and let me know if there is anything that I should know before I try this.

Its fun to use. Too bad the GS430 doesnt have it. Move the shifter from D to m, by moving it to the left.

Youll hear a little beep and if your at a stop or going really slow, use one of the down buttons till you get to 2. It wont let you go to 1.

When your at a high enough speed or you hear the car revving high, hit the up button on the back of the wheel to move up a gear... just continue doing this. When you stop again, hit DOWN untill your at 2. Its fun and safe. You cant ruin the car.

Youll see the car goes from D to M. M meaning MANUAL mode.
