I did not know that they even had one out. I would be a bit fearful of adding a TC to my car. It would scare me

why would you be fearful of changing the stall speed and matching your power band better. By the way there are a couple of companies that make conveters for our cars just would like to know if anyone here has use one n\a. I am looking to get a turbo next year and figure that the trans is the first place to start so that I can handle that power. Also is there any one who sells a shift kit for our trans I thought I heard some one say that Toyomoto has one. I was woundering if this is just a valve body kit or is this also include a set of clutches, or is it just a pressure boost kit? any help would be great.

Thanks again

There are no clutches on an auto. An auto only has a torque converter. As far as SRT... well lets say that a number of people are dissatisified with them as a company. Secondly there are been a few reports of the TC for the GS doing a couple grand in damage on a few cars. That is scary. In theory it is great though. What other companies are selling a TC?

well I have news for you there are a lot of clutches in an auto. I happened to build a few. There are kits that only work on the valve body and kits that work on the whole trans but I am not sure which kits are avalible for the IS300.

Sorry emo last post was not for you I do not know how I missed your reply. Do you know how much the kit runs and can you do the kit by only dropping the pan \ valvebody or do you need to romove the trans. and do you know any one who has used a srt conveter in the IS300.

they would go in side of the trans in what are called clutch packs this is what falls apart when you smoke your trans. usually. The valve body directs trans fluid through different valves which apply different clutch packs all auto trans have them some have a band which is also applied. there is also a small clutch which is refered to as lock-up in some auto trans converters if this clutch is fried you can get the same effect as a blown trans because the particals from this clutch can get in the valve body and stick valves. The lock-up clutch can be fried by stalling out the converter for to long with out moving the veical like in a launch if the tires are spinning then there in fluid flow and the clutch will not over heat in the trans. I hope this answered your questions. I have built a few older tranies and was a dyno tech for a few years.
