To the extent of my knowledge -
TRD's parts will NOT void your warrenty, as it is done by Toyota. TRD's stuff isnt for making the IS "super fast" - its for extra power. If you want a speed demon, aftermarket is your bag.

And the I35 to the IS300? Are you kidding? Yea, the I35 has more power, but its not all that much faster than a stick IS, if faster at all.. And the looks? There is no comparision. And I dont know anything about Infiniti service, but Lexus is damn near perfect.

Anothing thing is that the IS can WAY out corner nearly any car out on the road that costs less than 40k. The WRX, and maybe A4 quatro's might be better too but that is yet to be determined. When you compare the I35 with the IS, the IS wins hands down.

If you are curious about aftermarket mods, IS is the way to go. There aren't that many people out there modifying their I35's. You can tweak the IS to 232 (for sure) to 252 (there have only been reports, that are being investigated) for 800 to 2k after installation. Then suspension mods are very similar. For 350 after installation you can get sway bars that will definately make the IS an incredible drive. I'm waiting for the RMM shop to have time to put them on my car.

What else do you want to know?

TRD doesn't make an intake, just another muffler. The L-Tuned (TRD) muffler costs 699 w/o installation. You can go with any other aftermarket intake and it won't void the warranty. As fairuza will point out, nothing that is bolted onto the car will void the warranty. Lexus has to prove that any modifications done to the car caused the failure. If they can't prove that the mod caused it, then they have to cover the failure.

A new muffler (the tubing is already great) will give you 6-9 rwhp. L-Tuned is 8 rwph

An intake will net you 5-12 rwhp too.

No one has posted any new 0-60 times, or 1/4 mile times with the above mods. Once I get mine, and if we can ever get a group track time I'll find out.

hey insane

the real comparison should be with the G35, not the I35 -- check it out at infiniti's site

I35 v. ES300 is more like it

Sorry to hear it... well at least you're only leasing it. That way you can get rid of it before it's out of warrenty.
