On Christmas day I was driving to visit relatives and out of no where a guy driving a TL loses control (it was raining) and heads straight towards me. I went to the shoulder of the road to avoid hitting him and in the process took out two signs, and landed in a ditch. He sticks around for about 5 minutes and said since we didn't make contact that he was going to leave. He left, but not without my mom getting his plate #. The trooper tracked him down so that I could get all necessary information. Of course his story was a little different from mine, and the # he gave to the trooper is ironically no longer in service. The damage estimate is 3900. No one was hurt.

Ouch man, sorry to hear that, but glad no one was hurt. They should still be able to track him down by the licence number. If not, hopefully your insurance will cover it without jacking your rate too much. GL.
