Default CD Changer issue...Error 3 ??

Hey ,
I got a factory CD Changer in the dash, well this morning i decided to change out some of my discs...
I hit the eject button and it just sat there and flashed at me..
After a minute it's Flashing "Error 3" at me and will not do anything...

I have seen this before and I could just turn the system off and on again and then it would start working with no problem. Well not this time...
Cd player is totally not working...

Help!!

The Lexus dealer here in Carlsbad told me that happens all the time. It may just be toast unfortunately (sounds like the mechanism is jammed inside). You may have to get a new one, and as far as getting the cd's out of the old one, you may have to take the player apart. I've never done it on this kind. Good luck!

Try unhooking the battery and the rehooking it back up sometimes this helps.

Default fixed it !

Well, I decided that since it didnt work, this was the oppertune time to tear it apart and see what was inside

Turns out a CD didnt change properly and got stuck.

I then removed the stuck CD and powered it up real quick to see if that helped...

YeaY !!!

Put her back together and been workin Great ever since...

Thanks for everyones input!

Evan

Don't worry, this is a common problem with our cars.

It is rather simple to remove the radio and unjam the CD's yourself if your car is out of warranty. I have unjammed mine a few times. Took me about 30-45min total time. (removal-fix-reinstall)

The jamming is more prone to cars with aftermarket suspensions when you hit a bump in the road precisely when the CD's are shifting from disc to disc.

( i have owned my car for 6yrs and I have documented this )
