Default cd changer problem

well when i bought the car it didnt have a cartridge. so i finally got one (same model #) and loaded it to my changer with some cds to test it...when i close it, all i hear is some winding noises non stop and when i press the cd button on my console, it does nothing..still stays at FM...im wondering if my changer is just busted, im doing it wrong, or something else..any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you put the CDs in the correct way

When looking at the cartridge slots so that you can read the numbers, the labels on the CD's should be face up.

Before my Changer died, that is what it was doing. It would wind and wind, sometimes kicking the CD Cartridge out and sometimes not doing anything. Then about 2 weeks later, it just died.
