I LOVE being the NEWB!!!
Hey All -
Looking to pick up a 2003 IS 300 with about 15k on the clock. I have been into the RX7 scene for a while and know that car inside and out, but am new to the IS 300.
What kind of price should I be looking to pay for a car matching the description above? Also, is there anything I should check out when it comes to known problem areas for the car? Im looking to make a move next week, so I thank you ahead of time for your response.
Feel free to flame the NEWB

Fifteen thousand miles should be on it's third oil change... Toyota oil filter, hopefully
( you want this documented) What brand oil currently installed, receipt provided?
Consult with Lexus for any warranty work performed.
Check for any tire "feathering", along the inner and outer edges.
The engine air and cabin ACC filter should be new, replaced at 15K
All body panels and doors have a Toyota/Lexus VIN tag attached, look under the hood for an example.
A "carfax" report, for what it's worth.
A large towel to place on the ground, while you visually inspect down the sides, front and rear, inspecting for repaint, ripples from the "paintless dent repairs". Inspect for dents in the mufflers.
Look for indications of being a flooded auto, rust in interior seat bolts, for example. Carefully inspect the trunk with the spare removed, for flood damage.

Thanks Tammy. Those are all excellent suggestions.
How about recalls on the 2003's? Should I be aware of anything in that area?
Also - what are the problem areas for the IS 300 (read: area's prone to failure/replacement)?
Thanks in advance!
