Default oil question

I have a 04 ES 330, 78000 miles, change oil every 5000 miles, done at Lexus dealer or Toyota dealer. Had a local shop that changed it a few times, just felt better getting it done at Lexus or Toyota dealer. Should I go to a better or different oil with this amount of miles? I plan on keeping the car. I think the local shop I take my Impala to will do it if I bring my own oil and filter. They use Kendell oil. Any opinions or tips would be helpful. Thanks.

78,000 miles is a brand new car. Don't worry about the miles. I would recommend using Toyota or WIX filters. I compared the WIX filters I use in the Legend to the Toyota filter for the ES300 and it seems that the WIX are of higher quality. They have a thicker casing and a more robust center tube in the filter with much bigger holes to allow more oil to go through. The media in the WIX filter is spaced out as good as, if not better than the Toyota filter.

I don't know what Kendell oil is. They don't sell it in the NW. You can't wrong with a good quality conventional oil. But with how cold it gets in Michigan I would go with a synthetic because they flow much better at cold temps then conventional oils do. I use Mobil 1 in the Legend and have not had lifter tick in about 3 months now. It has 174K miles. For the ES I use castrol conventional with a Toyota filter.
