01 is300 CD player prob
I just purchased a 2001 IS 300. I am having problems with the cd player. I was able to load one cd and it won't take anymore. When i push the disc function button it doesn't do anything. Can you help me out?
Thanks :

hrmm May want to take it back to the dealer to have it switched out. The only probs I ever heard about the IS(any year) was the 6-disk changers locking up after time. Mine did, I had to have it switched twice and then I had no problems but ended up selling that one for an aftermarket one. Good luck and welcome to ClubLexus!

I have a 2001 and my CD player broke almost imediatly. They told me it was because I put a CD that I burned into it and that it was because the Recordable CD's were thinner or some b.s. like that. What good is a CD player if I can't play CD's I burn. Anyway, they replaced it for free but not before giving me some lecture about playing CD's that i burned

I have an 01 IS and Ive had my cd player get jammed once when I hit a huge pothole. I messed around with it and fixed it myself. Should I be worried about getting it replaced? I bought my car from the dealer and its under warranty. Im curious. Does it take a while to load cds into the changer? It takes about 5 seconds to load a cd into the changer. is that normal?

if the cd player isn't mulfunctioning, i don't see how you can get the dealer to "fix" it though
thanks. I havent really tested it out much. Ive been using my ipod in my car a lot recently. Maybe I should test it out more while I still have the warranty to make sure everything is really okay?

yes Definitly get it fixed while its under warranty if it is broken... I dont think they even checked mine, I just told the service guy it was broken... he eyeballed it and said "ya its broken. we will replace it". 30 minutes and a mocha latte later I had a newly installed cd player at no cost to me. Besides the lecture it was a relatively painless process.
