Hey folks,
Drove my 2020 RX 450h today and came back to it a few hours later and it wouldn't start. When I pushed the power button all the lights in the dash start flashing and it shows a parade of error messages across the message area. It also wouldn't turn off when pushing the power button - had to push it about 5 times. Rear tailgate wouldn't open. And when I put one window down I could barely get it to go back up. Is this a battery issue? It sort of seems like it but I don't know why it would be flashing every single dash error light and flowing all the error messages. Thoughts? Thanks!

If you have a charger to start, then try that. If it does start, then just replace the battery, and don't bother testing the battery, I have 12 volt AGMs in my walk along golf carts, and when they just start acting up I just replace them unless they are still under warranty, because even though they may test OK, they are still bad, Some AGMs can go forever and others seem to have a half life, My wife's RAV H is a 2016 and has the original battery, while other people have to replace theirs in half the time Go figure.

turns out it was the battery - we jumped it and it started and ran fine. why lexus would design a car such that instead of a battery error message the car literally goes bananas is beyond me. poor engineering.

Hey eggers, that is a great point. I don't think it would be that difficult for the engineers to come up with a warning or error message that points directly to a failed battery.

Just like I said, AGMs can test OK, but they are not. Still go figureOriginally Posted by jcg0324
