Help- 2013 RX350 flashing lights and car won't start!
When I try and start my car all the lights on the dash light up and the headlights flash on and off really fast. The car won't start but makes a clicking noise until I push the start button again. The seats don't work either and I can't push the pedal down.
Is is this an electrical issue? Anyone have any ideas?
It's Saturday and I can't take it in anywhere so hopefully I'm not stuck at home all weekend!
thanks

We had the same symptoms last week on our 2014 Sienna Limited - I call it "The Adult Size RX" since it is identical mechanically. Replacing the original battery with a new Interstate 24F from Costco solved it.
If your battery is the original one, you are fortunate that it lasted this long.

If you can jump start the vehicle and drive to your nearest Lexus dealership, have them perform a battery health check. If it's the original Lexus battery, it may still be covered under a warranty. But definitely, it sounds like a weak battery to me.

Yep - battery!
I had the same thing happen last night in my daughter's Lexus.
When she tried to start the car, there was a whirring noise (trying to crank up the car),
and suddenly, a clicking noise and headlights flashing on and off rapidly.
Had to disconnect the battery leads to stop the flashing headlights.
Then charged the battery up for 5 hours, and car is starting ok now.
Battery is original one from 6 years ago.
Guess time for a new battery!

6 years is a long time for these mediocre-at-best factory batteries, so you were indeed fortunate. I saw that Pep Boys is currently running a sale on batteries so you may want to check with them.

Yup. Sounds like a weak battery that might need replacing. I had the same symptoms about a month ago and replaced my battery with one from Costco. Unlike other people I found the Costco battery gives a weaker start than the factory one.

You may want to check the charge level and possibly charge your new Costco battery. They can sit on the shelf and be stored for months before being sold and lose much of their charge.
My neighbor bought a new battery for his mother-in-law's car which is rarely driven and it went dead in 2 weeks. It took all day to recharge it with a 10 amp battery charger. The new battery has been fine since receiving that full charge.
