I cant seem to find any threads on this. Does anyone know if I can get these installed on a base model 350h. I see a covering on the doors and no wires behind it and no lights, but I saw a picture somewhere where someone also just had the cover wand was able to install puddle lights from amazon.

I don't believe the base NX350h has the wiring for the puddle lights installed from the factory. In the higher trims (read Premium & Luxury in Canada) though the lights aren't there, the wiring is there and you can buy an aftermarket light that fits perfectly. The UltraLuxury and Executive Trims in Canada have the puddle lights installed from the factory.

That doesn't make sense for two reasons : (1) to have multiple wiring harnesses would be very costly and time consuming for Lexus to install based on level of trim base, premium, luxury, (2) you can configure puddle lamps with the online configurator on the base level of trim. You do not need to have premium or luxury trim to add puddle lamps.

Not entirely accurate, but I'm not in the mood to go down a long winded path of why.
OP said he didn't find any wiring behind the cover. This implies that either the wiring is not there or OP did not look properly.
I don't have the base NX350h and I did not configure puddle lamps in my vehicle when I ordered. I added aftermarket puddle lamps after I took delivery.
Besides, I am in Canada and it is a well known fact that though assembled in the same plant, American and Canadian NX have distinct differences.
@ OP, my comment is based on my Canadian NX experience.

I believe what I said is completely accurate on a specific model ,such as the NX , you typically have only one universal wiring harness to minimize costs and the puddle lamps can be added on the online Lexus configurator on the base NX so I do not understand your snide comment 'Not entirely accurate, but I'm not in the mood to go down a long winded path of why." I maybe wrong, but if I am tell me what I said that was wrong and I will accept my error and apologize. Have a good day sir or I guess good evening now, sir.

OP, @gerardz even on the base NX it appears the puddle lamp wiring should be there. I am sorry you are having trouble locating it.

I can confirm that the puddle lights are no Installed from factory in Canada on the 350h ultra luxury.

I was interested with the same question, and found out all connectors and wires r installed, so actually you can instal any additional equipment. I simply ordered lamps from Lexus dealer, and put it on it’s place without any prob.
Everyone can install Side Puddle Lights ( or rear :O )

I will check again, but when i opened it the week i took delivery i saw no wires there and was disappointed and instantly put the cover back on...Lol. I will check it again, maybe its tucked inside there somewhere.

if your car has the wiring it will be plugged into the blank cover. Mine was plugged into the blank. Ultra luxury in Canada.
My ultra luxury 350 doesn't have the puddle light either. The cover is a bit recessed. Does any know how to pry open it? I worry that it will drop inside the door panel. Did anyone install puddle light themselves?

Don't worry; you're not gonna break the cover. It's not that flimsy. Go here for all the info you need:
