What year is this 450h? Here is some pictures I have from previous repair jobs of a 2010 and I can’t find those connectors. Maybe they engine swapped the wrong type of engine? The 450h came with a 2GR-FXE which uses an Atkinson cycle.
Actually I think that’s what happened. They swapped in a regular 2GR-FE which is used on a non hybrid model. The last photo is a picture of my 2010 ES350 with a 2GR-FE. You can see those exact connectors on it.
you might be correct. the wiring on your second last picture is what i have.
this may also explain why one of the wiring case can not be secure to the cam cover...
the cam cover must been swapped, rather than engine as a whole?
You need the whole engine. It runs on a different combustion cycle so it needs different sensors and may have different internals in the heads. At the very least you would need different engine heads.
Does this engine run? I’m surprised it was installed with a wiring harness that can’t accept it. Somebody didn’t care or didn’t pay enough to repair it properly.
Was this repair covered by insurance? If so you need to file a complaint with your or the offending driver's insurance that the repair was not performed properly because they installed the wrong engine. You may get better results contacting your company first and they will go after the offending driver's company. and thus the repair shop.
