Default preaching to the choir?

182k miles and counting fast, several trips to Florida, Utah, California and the SW, sometimes more than one trip a year to British Columbia, and single trips to the east coast and Yukon... all very enjoyable times while in the driver's seat of my 400h. Here's the thing though; I look for my next vehicle sometimes years in advance and I'm simply not finding it. I've been with Lexus for a while... a 330, a 350, even an NX, but I'm not seeing anything equal to what I like in the 400h... good mileage, awesome acceleration, cushy ride, great looks. Definitely anything Lexus has put out since isn't cutting it for me. Thinking I'd settle down in retirement I thought I'd be happy "settling" with an NX, but SHE drives that one; I just can't get used to it. So I wonder; is anybody hanging around here in the forums that has replaced their 400h with something they're really happy with? I'm wide open; heck, my anger over Lexus' very poor evolution of the nav interface has me looking as far afield as an F150 or a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Help! or just tell me all these sentiments are due to becoming a grumpy old man who has become too ensconced in this driving routine.

There is nothing better. Maybe Highlander Hybrid Limited as it's much more utilitarian. Most of the stuff you have on the roof would fit in easy. Likely, all of it. Same power train.

I agree, great machine, not a lot of desire for what Lexus offers because of the cow catcher look...… Highlander looks pretty good,

...had a flat in the Yukon, left it on the roof until fixed. Wheels are some used ASA crap I bought for snow tires.

so funny to see this thread, i just ended up replacing my 2007 rx400h with 155k miles... with a 2008 rx400h with 68k miles. i tried a plethora of cars and even put offers on a few of them.... newer rx350s, rx350 f sport, rx450h, ct200h, even a mercedes ml350 bluetec.... considered the NX as well.... also the highlander hybrids too. it's funny how so many of us love the 400s and think such alike.

There is a rx400h for sale in texas with 361k miles! That is a bit of hope for me! No record of battery being replaced or engine being replaced or rebuilt on lexus drivers, and it has been serviced at lexus dealers from new until 361k miles it seems with no more than 10k miles between services. Check out my registry of rx 400Hs:

the car does look a little dated , but i still think the 400s (with the round fog light front bumpers) still look great. add the fact that they are the last of the japan build RXs (re reliability) and i cant think you can go wrong.

If you are a grumpy old man so am I then. But I am mid 30's. I have my eye out for the next vehicle in 2-4 years and so far did not find anything yet. I like the GX but the gas mileage is a killer. I envy you that you get to enjoy your RX in those pics.

I get a lot of phrase from people riding my 08.That its a nice ride and held up well. Some passengers started to look into getting an RX themselves. However the crappy Bluetooth and Display is the most annoying.

i don't mind the display really, but the bluetooth re music streaming can be easily fixed via installing a tranzit blu HF (i have one in my 911 as well). - or install a basic vais adapter for aux music - the built in bluetooth for phone calls works ok for me.

if the display is that much a pita, there is a gROM solution that ads for apple carplay etc etc - but too costly for me.
