Help! 2006 RX400H suddenly stalling, running rough, complaining about hybrid system.
Out of the blue, my pristine Lexus is giving me grief! The engine sounds fine, but it hesitates when giving it gas, there are weird sounds up front NOT from the engine almost like a vent trying to open or something, and there are error messages saying CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM. I'm happy to spend $300 on a diagnostic at the dealer, but I'm worried about driving it the 30 minutes there. Any ideas? It's got 80k miles, and has had all major services done at the dealer and is up to date.

Could be a fuel delivery problem.
Possibly a weak fuel pump.
Pop the hood and just visually check if anything is out of the ordinary.
Either way with no codes set, i’d have it towed to get it looked at.

Sorry to hear you are having problems. First thing is to get the "engine codes" You can borrow one at any Auto parts store. I would advise driving 30 mins (how many miles is it? Highway/local) if your insurance covers towing you can get it towed there (request flat bed) The check engine/hybrid can be triggered by a number of issues. Check out the other post in the forum.
