Automatic adapter causing major drive computer crash
I have had some major electrical issues with my 2008 RX400h. Intermittently losing power steering, brakes, and with error codes galore. Please see previous post here:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/hyb...rs-galore.html
Error codes as per Lexus:
C1300 - skid control ECU malfunction
C1378 - capacitor communication failure
U0129 - for ABS/VSC/Trac system, lost communication with brake system control module
U0129 - for hybrid control and cruise control,
U0121 - lost communication with ABS system for EMPS (Steering control)
According to the Lexus dealer they think it may be caused by my aftermarket Automatic adapter. (https://www.automatic.com/)
I have this plugged into my OBD port so I can analyze mileage, and collect car data. It's a harmless adapter that reads car codes, and mileage.
I have been instructed to run without the adapter and see if this issue happens again. Has anyone else ever seen and issue like this before?
Thx
Ken

Hi,
I've gotten the same collection of errors after I inserted "Progressive Car Insurance tracking device" in my RX400h 2008.
Use TechStream to clear U0129 and the other errors. And never ever use those mfk's ...

Same thing happened to me. I had no idea that aftermarket part can do that to your car and it is really crazy that it can happen as easily as that. I had to change it and now I never use aftermarket parts on my car anymore. That has made me take more care of everything and even my home laptop has an optimizer tool that keeps it clean and optimized always. There is a lot of good info about PC optimization on https://thinkmobiles.com/blog/best-p...ation-software and it is really worth it to keep your PC clean because it will be much faster.
