Default Ipod error

when i plug in my iphone to the usb port and try to play music, after a few minutes i get "IPOD error" and the music stops. I have to reset. this happens about every 2-3 minutes.
i tried using a different port, a different cable, even a different iphone
always the same issue
does anyone know of a fix for this?

I would post this in the regular NX section, not the Hybrid specific section, you will get more responses, this sections doesn't get as much action.

What version of iPhone is it?
What software Version is the iPhone running?
Are both iPhones the same setup?
Is there an software upgrade for either phone available?
Is there some kind of "sleep" mode on an iPhone, and maybe when it goes in to that it messes up? I don't know the iPhone at all I use Android stuff.

try switching to BT AUDIO...should work fine, and can keep it plugged in as well to charge

It is a glitch with Iphone, because the car is treating it as an iPod.

According to the Tech specialist at my dealer, this is a known issue with the NX and RC models - he stated that Lexus is working on a software fix, and that vehicles experiencing the error will need to have a system update done once the fix is available (he said they were shooting for it to be avail in 30 days).
Just picked up my new NX 200t 2 weeks ago, and the same thing happens to me when plugging in the iPhone 6 in to the USB ports in the console bin; in the meantime, easiest fix is to use a charger plugged in to the 12V port, and play audio via Bluetooth instead.

Default Ipod error

I have had this issue since day one with my 2014 IS 350 F. it has been at the dealer for a total of 20 days in the last 1.5 years and they still don't know what to do. its not my phone, its my car. I have been traveling alot for work lately and i have driven at least 15 loaner/rental cars in the last six months, lexus included, none of them have had this connectivity issue. They opened a case with Japan but this may go on for a while. Keep documenting the issue with them and make them acknowledge it. I miss my car its been 6 days since i dropped it off this time and they are still calling me and gathering more information...

My unit would lock up on two particular MP3 songs when playing from a USB drive. I learned that the Lexus does not like anything in the MP3 tags that resembles a special character. When I edited the tags, all issues were resolved.
