Default diagnostic tool for Hybrid?

Has anybody used this tool for the hybrid? I am interested if it will actuate the braking system for bleeding the brakes. On toyota nation site someone uses it on their 2012 camry to program the c best settings....but still no firm answer whether it will work on hybrid for the brake actuator.

You will still need the Toyota Techstream Lite software I believe.

Yea i am confused by this product, they kind of claim it is plug and play, but some folks on the Toyota Nation forum are discussing this product and cant get them to work. Yet others have...apparently different levels of software and key codes....

I ordered one of the $27 ebay cable and software and yes it will actuate and bleed the hybrid brakes. It is pretty cool. You can select individual lines to bleed. I did not actually bleed the brakes but I got all the way up to the point where I could hit go.

I was also able to set my hatch to open by pressing the button above the license plate, doors now un-lock when going into park, all 4 doors unlock when I press unlock on the key, all doors lock at around 10 mph, the hatch goes up with a quick press of the open button on the key and I set my auto lights to come on a little earlier.

This is what I got http://www.ebay.com/itm/MINI-VCI-J2534-Compatible-FOR-OEM-TOYOTA-TIS-Techstream-OBD2-Scanner-W-Software-/370851008240?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item5658714ef0&vxp=mtr
It only works with XP 32 bit. Other than that it was easy.

Are you getting an error message? The software has a video instruction file. Some users have had bad luck with the included software but downloaded elsewhere and then it works.

Sorry to "hijack" this thread, but am wondering if the software is subscription-based (yearly or weekly), or if the software contains a "permanent" key?

It is a trial key good for 30 loads. If you use over 30 there is a config file you need to delete to restart the count. Or if you are on a VM you can reload the snapshot back to the day you installed it.

Sorry to reopen this tread,

I also ordered the product ill be receiving It Tomorrow I would really appreciate it if you would have instructions to how you set the hatch to open with a easy tap or how you changed the lighting timing

The manual actually has instructions for how to change the door to lock after hitting 14 mph and disable the lock from **** and enable the lock to shift

Thank you,

Look for the PDB (power back door) area. Basic instructions at the link below but these only list available changes that can be made. http://www.lexus.com/pdf/service/RX350_LPS.pdf

I bought this on eBay and it works fine for me using Windows 7 32-bit. The wait time is very slow for some functions but it works.

I thought the TIS Techstream (and the aftermarket one mention was the only way to access the Computer for service) But I came arose this article that mention Mastertech, manufactured by Vetronix for the 400h. . http://www.motor.com/article.asp?article_ID=2197

The section of interest-
"“In 2006, the Lexus RX 400h and Toyota Highlander Hybrid medium-sized SUVs were introduced. Broadly based on the Generation 1 Prius, the SUVs’ battery packs, electrical connections and transmissions were common service items. The initial diagnostic scan tool was the Mastertech, manufactured by Vetronix, a toolmaker that was acquired by the Bosch Group during the rollouts. Toyota then phased out support for the Mastertech between 2007 and 2008 and moved to the TIS Techstream platform developed with Denso. While the Toyota Highlander Hybrid was completely redesigned in 2008 and supported by the new TIS Techstream scan tool, the Lexus RX 400h was not redesigned until 2010 and was left unsupported.”"

Any thoughts?
