Took my car for 15k service to Lexus dealer and when they were replacing cabin filter it was discovered their is critter nest in that area, filter was partly shreaded. Not sure what else is the damage but car was going ok. So my question is how ot prevent futher occurences as this car is not garaged?
While cleaning the assembly dealer didn't find any traces of animal, so it might've abandoned the car or miss the ride, so we don't know what kind of critter was in it.
The only place that such a critter would be getting into that area would be through the air vents just below the windshield (unless I am mistaken here on design). There's not much you can do in that respect.
Weird, too, because those vents at the base of the windshield (outside) have a screen covering them. Unless the critter got inside the car somehow and made it's way throught the inside vents???
Just curious, could it have been something like a lizard ??? They're small enough

No chance of lizard, the damage to cabin filter and the debris (leaf, pine needles, pieces of sponge, paper etc) it's rodent for sure. I bought this as CPO and it had a very low mileage about only 7k for 3 years old car, so it 's apparent previous owner didn't drive it much. Damage could've been from that time. We also never smelled anything ever just the humming from fan.
