Horsepower?
Just bought a tungsten/black interior AWD. Both the FWD and AWD have horsepower rating of 295 total system. Since, the AWD has an additional electric motor on the rear wheels wouldn't that produce additional horsepower on demand? What is the the horsepower rating on the front and rear electric motors?
Thanks

Found this info. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...nd_engine.html
good question. acceleration is all based on torque, and a hybrids battery generator only produces torque at 0 rpm. If you look at the engine specs, the number for torque is usually what is coming out of the engine and does not include the torque number from the electric motors.
My guess is that the brochures and specs only say the gas engines torque number and the third electric motor in the awd just adds more torque for better aceleration

That was my impression. My understanding is that a combined (gas and electric) torque measurement can't be made, like it can for Net HP output.
