Default Valentine 1

Anyone know the best way to hardwire a Valentine 1 radar detector (with a concealed display) to the 400h? Better yet, can I integrate the V1 with the navigation?

No one uses a V1 here? I know this is not a sports cars or anything, but I do have a lead foot no matter what I drive.

I've been an Escort Solo S2 user myself for years now. It has saved me many times. Having to change batteries every 3-4 months doesn't bother me much.

I doubt there's a way to integrate it into the nav system. I'd talk to a local reputable installer about hardwiring. I'm sure they can find a 12v source to tap power from.

I have a V1, but not in the lex. Seems like kind of waste, but in my other car I have it wired to the homelink. Im sure you could do the same, just use a multimeter to find the right wires

I have a V1 hardwired in my M3 as well. But fast is fast no matter what you drive. Dosent's matter if 0-60 is under 4sec or 10 minutes when you get over the speed limt, you are over the speed limit.

I have a heavy foot and don't feel like swapping out my V1 from car to car. I will just end up hardwiring it to the fuse box as I did with my previous cars. TI thought there was an easier way like with the M3 (http://m.madrussian.net/diy_valentine_v1.shtml)
so that I din't have to run a wire all the way down.

I'll post pics in the future.

I have a passport 8500 wired into the upper console. You can wire any detector you want that way. Make sure you find an ignition switched set of wires.

I have an X50 in the G35, but not in the RX. However, fast is still fast. Best thing to do is to take it in to some shop if you're not willing to do it yourself. If you are, find a set of swtiched wires like larry said.
