So i have just recently bought myself a new 400h and enjoy it greatly. My question though is, how do you turn on the power to these 3 12v outlets? The manual says there is a button next to the fuel tank and the afs (or aps) off button, but there is an empty button there that cant be pressed. What can i do?

 

Do you have the Rear Seat Entertainment System on your RX? If you do, there is a cut off switch on the dash next to the AFS button for the a/c outlet in the back. The a/c plug is located next to the A/V inputs so you can plug in any electronic video/audio accessory to view with the rear drop down lcd. If you don't have RSES, you will have a blank button in that area you just mentioned.

 

i don't have rear seat entertainment, but that means none of the 12v outlets will work? if they do, how do u turn it on

 

If you don't have RSES, you don't have the 115 cut off switch on the dash. There is a DC plug in which is next to one of the area lamps underneath the cargo cover rail. There is no way to disable it unless you physically unplug it from behind the trim or pull the fuse.

 

You turn on the 12 volt plugs by turning on the ignition.
