Test drove it this past weekend, and loved it! I like the brushed aluminum interior a lot more than I thought I would. The vehicle is silent, comfortable, roomy, economical on gas, and fast! Even the base sound system sounded pretty decent. Mine probably comes in next weekend.

I was 5 on the list and took delivery of the first one at the dealership on Friday. I'm still getting used to the silent startup but overall am pleased with the car. Definitely faster than the RX330 and of course I'm getting better mileage. Right now the current mpg is at 25.7 with equal amounts of city and highway driving.
Nav/Mark Levinson
I put 500 down around January or so, and was told I'd get priority, but that I'd probably get it about 3-5 months after release. To my surprise they called me and told me I was getting one from the first allocation! After much belabored deliberating about cost/benefits
(this car is much more than I'd ever expect myself to pay for a car), I went for it. I was getting it for MSRP, no premium. If I didn't get it when my number was called I might not be able to get it at that price for a long, long time.I am extremely happy with it, although, my back is still trying to get used to the curve of the seat. Although I am of average height for a man, it feels like the curves of the seat don't fit me. I have never owned an RX, so maybe it's something I'll get used to. Any similar experiences/solutions out there?
The car is a joy to drive. My MPG as of now (2 days in) is much lower than I'd hoped, but I haven't driven far enough to give myself a fair assessment. Also, it takes a little bit of getting used to a driving style that will achieve better mileage (actually this could be true in any car). The trick is to ease your foot off the accelorator and let the car move from its own inertia whenever possible. Also a slow and steady accelleration beats a fast take off (even though this baby will bolt if you need it to). There's plenty of power when you need it. I'll report back when I get an honest MPG reading.
I haven't owned an RX before, but those who have may want to compare the engine noise of the RX 330 with the 400h. My impression was that it was louder during accellerations, but the dealer assured me it was exactly the same in volume. I'd like to hear what others thought.
Other than the above issues the car's been fantastic.
inkblot185, I know what you mean about the noise on hard acceleration. I thoght the same thing on my test drive. Of course, I had the stereo off and was specifically listening for engine noise at the time. I suppose it's actually no louder than any other normal car, but I guess somehow I was expecting eerie silence at all times.
From what I've been told, the northeast will not be getting any Mark Levinsons anytime soon. Even the 330's don't come here with them. Makes no sense to me. People who live closest to Juliard don't like music?
I suppose one could be special-ordered, but I've already waited longer for this vehicle than for all other vehicles combined. How do you guys like your NAV system?

Came out of 2002 ML320.
Seats smaller, shorter, less shoulder support than ML320. Both Driver and passenger seats definitely rock or sway sideways in mild cornering. Leg room on driver’s side noticeably less than ML320.
Both ML320 and RX400 have a center console between seats that just allows my hand sideways to just fit in between.
With RX even in mild cornering my hand gets pinched between console and seat. With ML320, even in hard cornering the seat space between the console and seat remains the same and nothing presses on my hand.
RX ride superior to ML320. Handling on par or better than ML320. Handles dips and road bumps better than ML320.
Braking action fine. Acceleration fine. Thought I would miss the feel of shifts. Don’t notice or miss a thing. Only time when engine come on it is most noticeable is in AM when pulling out of driveway when it’s cold and kicks in. Otherwise engine to batt transition reasonably transparent.
No rear dog/cargo guard option.
Miledge so far avg mostly city streets, 27 mpg.
