The door will not open with the smart key. I changed the battery in the key fob and the red light flashes, but it would not open. I used the mechanical key to open the door but it would not open. When I turn the mechanical key to the right or left, I hear a click but the door would not open. I applied WD40 to the key hole, but it still would not open. PLEASE HELP!

 

Do you have a dead 12v battery?

 

I assume yes.

 

How did you use the mechanical key? You have to use the key to unlock the door then you use the mechanical lever under the door handle to open the door using the mechanical small lever under the handle. This will bypass any electronics and dead battery issue

 

Thanks everybody. I called Lexus Roadside Assistance. They concluded I have a dead battery. Gave me a battery jump to start my car and drove it to the nearest Lexus dealer. They proceeded to replace my battery as the car was still under warranty.

 

They only can towed the car! no other options as I was told by Lexus roadside assistance, to the service 80 miles from my home

This is wrong. Sounds like u had someone who did it wrong before and wanted nothing to do with it.

 

You’re missing an important step. When you use the mechanical key in the door handle, it’s not designed to open the door for you. That click you’re hearing is the release of a trigger behind the handle. Pull that trigger and the door will open.

Don't understand what you are trying to tell.
they told me over phone call: policy changed, they don't send tech to jumped or help to start the car. they can only tow to nearest lexus dealer!
