Aloha new friends, our RX 450 phev is en route from Japan, is about 3 weeks out and I have a few questions.
1. Did everybody here get two key fobs? Read a couple different unresolved stories here on the forum.
2. Does the price of accessories on the website include installation? Example; $832 for installed running boards from dealer and the Lexus web site indicates $725.
3. Can I permanently turn off the exceeded speed limit beep or do I have to scroll and turn it off every time I get in the car to drive? And are there other annoying beeps that will catch me by surprise?
4. Can I auto adjust how high the rear hatch opens?
5. Any break-in advise?

1) Received our 2nd key in less than a month.
2) Can’t answer that
3) Pretty sure you can set the speed limit beep to silent and the speed limit is in the hud and changes color when you bust it. There are all kinds of beeps that you’ll be scratching your head over…lol. As annoying as they may be, I’ve left them on just in case I’ve missed something that’s gonna hit me.
4) You can adjust rear hatch height.
5) I am most likely going to do an early oil change.

1. Varies and most seem to get it within 3 months or less
2. Depends on the dealer
5. Manual mentioned you should do at least 1600kms/1000 miles. Something I am making sure to do, but I am a bit of a spirited driver.
I'm as excited as Surfwinky about the pending arrival of my 450h+ from Japan. Ordered it a couple of months ago, and it's expected mid-March from Japan. Some weeks ago, I watched the two excellent videos WellsB referred to. They answer about any question one could have about the new RX. Well worth the (long!) time to watch them, but very comprehensive. I saved the videos in my YouTube "Watch Later" folder, and plan to park the new 450h+ in my driveway when I pick it up and fire up those videos in my iPad. I'll then be guided through every setting!
It's not like I'm new to the RX. I'm trading in my 2019 450h for this new one. Best car I've ever owned, so sticking with the new RX was a no-brainer. The old RX has less than 50K on it, and is flawless, but I just crave the new technology.

Just make sure you have it in Ready mode or plugged in when you play. Accessory mode will leave you with a dead 12v battery in short order.

Does having the car plugged in and having the car in accessory mode save the12 volt battery from going dead or does plugging in only affect the hybrid battery?
Any time the hybrid battery is charging, the 12v battery is charging too.
WellsB, does this mean that in a situation where I have to leave the car parked in the garage at home unattended for a few weeks to go on a vacation - having the hybrid/traction battery charge every night (even though it will be 100 % charged the first night) is a good/safe strategy to keep the 12 V battery dying from parasitic drain of sitting around ? If the 12 V battery gets charged every night with the charger providing current, it should stay fully charged through the entire period - is my thinking correct ? Any caveats ?
The 12v battery does not get charged if left plugged in after the hybrid battery is fully charged. Additionally, there is an additional drain on the 12v battery if the vehicle is left plugged in after being fully charged, due to hybrid battery monitoring.
I feel that the best practice for the vehicle being left unused for a while is to leave the hybrid battery at about 80% charged and leave the 12v battery on a battery maintainer. If I could not do that, I'd leave the traction battery fully charged and unplugged and use remote start from the app to charge the 12v battery weekly.

Hmm, I think I will have to do the remote start weekly as you suggest. I believe the remote start auto switches off in 10 (?) minutes. Will 1 remote start suffice per week, or a couple might be necessary to keep the 12 V battery charged ? Best can you tell ?
