It can be done, all you do is on the right controls of steering wheel push down arrow. It will bring up on HUD the adaptive cruise control with that same button (down) click it again your see it will switch it from adaptive cruise control off to regular cruise, then HUD will update with tach. What stinks is each time you re start you need to repeat it to get it back, maybe their way to have dealer have it default to regular cruise to bring it up but not sure. It is cool and this works with gas models as well.

I’ve been playing with this, but, so far, I can’t understand. When you push the down arrow, there are two options, “Adaptive Cruise Mode” and “Cruise Control Mode”. I assume that “Cruise Control Mode” means “Regular Cruise Control”, but it’s not really clear. I can’t seem to make the vehicle drive on cruise with anything but Adaptive Cruise Control. And I’ve never seen any sort of tachometer in the driver’s “speedometer window area” or on the HUD. ??

Sorry, I wish I knew had to post video. I am going try to put steps in order and I don't know why Lexus made it so difficult.

1) Push down arrow button (one at bottom)
2) You will see “Adaptive Cruise Mode” first come up on HUD
3) Using the same down arrow button click it again so it moves to right dot to show "Cruise Control Mode” in HUD
4) Leave it in
"Cruise Control Mode” then after a second you will see tach appear on HUD - to be safe make sure the HUD is in full standard mode not sure what mine is set in.

Hope this helps its awesome, but stinks you need to do this every time you re start the car.

Message from today

Good morning, we received a call from Lexus and we are gonna replace the valve body, The valve body is the nerve center of the automatic transmission. It is responsible for creating smooth shifts, and because this car is hard to get the part, so we are going to order the part but it will take a couple of days to receive it

Thanks for the quick reply. I did what you said. My HUD is in FULL mode (I assume your suggestion to use “FULL STANDARD” mode was a mistake because my choices are FULL STANDARD or MINIMAL). I get this HUD with no tach.

Try this, do all those steps again. Maybe it because I have turned off my lane assist and driver pro active assist. Go in main shortcut screen in screen shut those off and then try it. I know for sure those I have off, I may have a few others shut but those seem to be the logo you have on the screen. It is standard view.

I get exactly the same HUD as in my photo above 🤷🏻‍♂️.

I’ve never seen ANY tachometer in any screen or setting of this vehicle. I’d love for someone to post a photo of that.

Here you go, this from RX350 F sport. As long as your selecting the regular cruise control, I don't think you seeing it because you have other safety assist things on the display. I have disabled the traffic Jam assist, lane departure, proactive driving assist, cross traffic front, monitoring camera and any steering assist.

So going back to the original poster. Okay so turning off those safety sensors shows rpm on HUD but how does this relates to hybrid malfunction?! maybe Safety sensors failure?!

500H here. I got the same Hybrid Malfunction CEL today. Also the same "a malfunction in the electronic control of the engine, throttle or automatic transmission has been detected." Also, several initial safety system disable icons and AWD malfunction, but that is clear now. Dealer can't see it for a week, but it's driving ok now, but I'll avoid long trips. Hopefully, this gets permanently fixed.

Sorry to hear about your issues. For reference (and someone please correct me) this transmission I believe is a bespoke to the 500H. The 350H uses the eCVT used by various lexus/toyota models so the drivetrain is a more proven one, negatives aside in terms of power, refinement, etc. Unfortunately I feel that '23 500H owners may feel some pains until Lexus sorts out first year issues of the bespoke components.

Asked the dealer for an update. About a month ago i asked if it was driveable and they said yes so i stead of driving their ****ty loaners i took it back until all parts they needed are in. Recieved a call and all parts are inmade an appointment to bring it in. That was over two weeks ago. I called them today and they told me they are waiting for parts. Idk wtf these clowns are doing but this whole time i have grown a dislike for the car and the brand. Im def gonna get rid of it and get the rs q8 much nicer than the rx

My dash cleared itself of all errors. It's been good for the past 200 miles. If I bring it in as scheduled, will the dealer find the codes in history?
