My airbag light came on a few weeks ago. It started coming on then going off intermediately. It got to the point where it would stay on while the GX was running but if I restarted it, it would go off. Then a few days later it was on all of the time and no longer went off when restarting.
I pulled the SRS code by jumping pins 4 & 13 on the OBDII port. I got a code "14" (B0101/14). I'm hoping it's a bad *cheap to replace * clock spring as opposed to a very expensive center airbag sensor.
This is how "I" pulled my SRS code *If you're trying this PLEASE proceed with caution. If the wrong pins are jumped / touched you could cause damage to your GX*
Get a 3" piece of wire to use a jumper
Turn your GX ignition to the "ON" position
Do nothing for 60 seconds
Take your jumper wire and jump pins 4 & 13 (see pic below)
Leave the wire and look at your gauge cluser
All of the icons will begin to flash / just pay attention to the airbag light
The airbag light will flash the first digit then there will be a 1.5 second pause and the second digit will flash
If there is more than one code, step 7 will be accompanied by a 2.5 second flash then the second code will flash just like it did step 7
After the last digit is flashed the air bag light will stop flashing for 4 seconds then will repeat 7 (8 if you have a 2nd code) over and over again until you remove the jumper
Once you have your code(s), click on the attached thumbnails below and cross reference the 2 digit number with the "B" code to find your fault (the pages were too large to load on this site as a PDF)
The one and only time I got an SRS code, it turned out to be a seat sensor... Required replacement of the driver's seat belt receptacle... 30 min fix...
I searched and found two threads on this issue but no conclusions as to what the problems were that caused them or how thwy were fixed.
Yesterday I took the 03 GX for its first decent length journey and after about 40 minutes of driving my SRS warning light came on and stayed on. Then on the drive home the same thing happened again after about the same amount of time.
What caused you guys similar issue and what was the fix?

You need to get the code, it could be many things.
My code brings up the problem areas as:
Horn button assy (D squib)
Spiral cable sub−assy
Airbag sensor assy center
Instrument panel wire
Since I've had problems w/ the clockspring controlling the steering wheel controls unless my steering wheel is at full lock I'm pretty sure it's the clockspring.
I ordered one from eBay but the harness clip didn't match the plugs. I need to order one from Sewell but they list the same part number as the one from eBay. When I checked on other Lexus sites they list a different part number. I need to call Sewell and find out for sure.
